In this competition a team of students work together to create a Rube Goldberg machine under 2 hrs and 30 mins, a system where each part is set off by the one before it in a comically large fashion. Teams earn 1 point for every reaction that takes place and lose a point for every touch*. There are also a list of materials you can use and materials you must use for extra points however these change every year. Finally, the machine must complete an objective by the end of it.
You can plan out your machine before hand but you are not allowed to create anything until you're in the room.Â
*A nudge to prompt the next reaction, used if the machine stops or breaks
