TEO (Teach, Educate, Opportunity) is a student-led, volunteer-run nonprofit organization founded in Kemp, Texas. Our mission is to fight educational inequality by providing free, peer-created resources to students — regardless of income, location, or background.
TEO is operated entirely by student volunteers. We are not a school, licensed counseling service, tutoring company, or credentialed educational institution. We are students helping students.
EIN: 39-276465 Contact: teo.teach.educate.opportunity@gmail.com Website: www.teo-program.com
TEO offers the following resources and services, all created and maintained by student volunteers:
Educational guides covering AP exams, ACT/SAT preparation, college applications, scholarships, CBOs, career pathways, clubs, and related topics
TEO Navigator — an AI-powered chatbot to help users find resources on our website
TEO Creations — a platform for student-submitted art, writing, comics, and creative expression related to education and personal growth
TEO Fellows Program — a peer mentorship initiative connecting experienced students with younger peers
Essay review services — peer feedback on college application essays, scholarship essays, and general application writing (offered for a suggested fee)
Community outreach materials — including QR-linked resource kits distributed at schools, libraries, and community events
TEO is a peer resource platform. Our guides, advice, and mentorship are based on the personal experiences, research, and perspectives of student volunteers. We share what worked for us, what we learned, and what we wish someone had told us.
TEO is not a replacement for professional academic advising, college counseling, legal advice, financial planning, medical guidance, or mental health services. Our content should not be treated as professional counsel.
TEO is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College Board, ACT Inc., QuestBridge, any college or university, or any other organization mentioned in our guides unless explicitly stated. References to these organizations are for informational purposes only.
TEO does not guarantee any specific academic outcome, test score, admission decision, or scholarship award as a result of using our resources. Education is personal, and results vary.
All guides and educational content on TEO are written by student volunteers based on their personal experiences and research. While we strive for accuracy and usefulness, our content:
Reflects the opinions and experiences of individual student authors
May not be current if educational policies, test formats, deadlines, or program details have changed since publication
Should be verified with official sources (school websites, College Board, program pages, etc.) before making important academic or financial decisions
Is provided "as is" without warranty of completeness, accuracy, or applicability to any individual situation
TEO is not responsible for decisions made based on our content. We encourage all users to consult official sources and qualified professionals for high-stakes decisions.
TEO offers peer essay reviews as an optional paid service. By submitting an essay for review, you understand and agree to the following:
What you receive:
Written feedback from one or more TEO team members who have personal experience with college and scholarship applications
Suggestions on structure, clarity, voice, and content
Honest peer perspective — not professional editing or proofreading
What this is not:
A professional editing, ghostwriting, or rewriting service
A guarantee that your essay will result in admission, a scholarship, or any specific outcome
A licensed counseling or academic advising service
Our commitment:
We will return feedback within the timeframe communicated at the time of submission (typically 5–7 days)
We will provide thoughtful, respectful, and constructive feedback
We will never share your essay with anyone outside the assigned reviewer(s) without your permission
We will never use your essay content for any other purpose
Your responsibility:
The essay you submit must be your own original work
The final essay you submit to any institution is your responsibility — TEO provides suggestions, not directives
TEO is not responsible for the outcome of any application in which a reviewed essay is used
Payment:
The suggested fee for essay reviews is $5 per essay
Payment is non-refundable once the review has been completed and delivered
Students who cannot afford the fee should reach out to us — we will never turn a student away for financial reasons
